Idle Speed Inspection
1. Start the engine. Hold the engine at 3,000 rpm with
no load (A/T in position, M/T in neutral) until
the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
2. Connect a tachometer to the test tachometer
connector.

NOTE: All electrical systems are turned OFF.
3. Adjust the idle speed if necessary (see section 11).
Ignition Control Module (ICM)
Replacement
1. Disconnect the 8-P and 6-P connectors from the ig-
nition control module (ICM).
2. Remove the two mounting bolts, and slide the ICM
out toward the front side.
CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the vacuum
hoses when removing the ICM.
