Lift and Safety Stands
CAUTION:
• If ground clearance is inadequate to clear the shop lift, either:
— Install rubber spacers on the coil springs to raise the car. Use the floor jack procedures to raise the car (page 1-10).
or
— Remove the chin spoiler.
or
— If you need even more clearance, install the rubber spacers and remove the chin spoiler.
• Follow the lift manufacturer’s instructions.
• Use rubber pad adapters on the lift to avoid damaging the car.
Spacer Installation
1. Place the rubber contact pads as shown.
2. Raise the lift a few inches, and rock the car to be sure it is firmly supported.
3. Raise the lift to full height, and inspect the lift points for solid support.
4. Install rubber spacers on the coil springs.
NOTE: Use the same support points to support the car on safety stands.
CAUTION: Remove the rubber spacers after lowering the car. Do not drive the car with rubber spacers installed be-
